Exciting news! It's about time we share with you what we've been working hard on for the past few months. As previously mentioned, we have formed a coalition with ACC Vancouver, ACC Whistler, BCMC, and the Brett Carlson Memorial Crew, to work towards a common goal that we had all previously been working towards separately. Timing is perfect, momentum is building, as is the excitement. Here is the official update:

After some very successful recent meetings, I thought it would be appropriate to mention that we have recently joined forces with Brett Carlson Memorial Crew in an effort to combine resources and help make each of our dreams a reality. Their team of passionate friends and skiers have been working on a memorial hut project for a number of years, and timing couldn't be better for us to join forces for one or more huts in Southwestern British Columbia.

A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped out or attended our annual Winter Kick Off Party and TGR Premiere fundraiser event at the Howe Sound Inn and Brew Pub on Nov 7, 2009. We raised over $3000 towards this special project.

It's that time of year again, our annual fundraiser and winter kick off party is hitting Squamish on Saturday November 7, 2009. The Howe Sound Inn and Brew Pub looks forward to hosting us, and our friends at Teton Gravity Research have once again donated their Ski & Snowboard flick to show at the event!

We look forward to seeing everyone, updating anyone interested on the project's recent progress, and of course kicking off the winter the way Kees and Claire would have... with a party!

We all just got back from an amazing weekend at Claire's family's cabin on Allison Lake near Merritt, BC. Heat, more heat, some thunder showers, more heat, awesome food, and of course awesome Dixon hospitality from Mark, Susan, Paul & Jill.

Oh, and of course some wakeboarding, barefooting, and the annual amateur water ski human pyramid!

And with almost the entire memorial hut society together, we had a great chance to get a status update on the project.

Spring is here, and we're keener than ever to make this project become a reality. Despite the pathetic snowfall earlier this season, we've all had an amazing mix of resort and backcountry skiing, and are more pumped than ever to build a memorial ski touring hut for Kees and Claire, allowing us to share their passion for the mountains with more people in future.

The annual Kees & Claire Winter Kick Off Party went off again this year! Again it featured TGR's newest ski & snowboard film, well received by a stoked crowd. Hosted at the Griz in Squamish, you had to know it was going to be epic.

Missed it this year? You'll definitely want to check it out next year. It'll be bigger and badder than ever.

Claire's father & brother were again able to make the drive out from Squamish - a special treat.

We can't wait for the upcoming fundraiser/party at the Griz in Squamish. If you're anywhere near Squamish, you don't want to miss this!

The hut planning is busier than ever right now, and it's all about LOCATION. There is so many considerations to take into account, and we really want to nail it. Away from busy sledding areas, easily accessed by ski/snowboard, but far from summer FSR roads, and surrounded by epic skiing and mountaineering terrain.

If you anyone has suggestions for an excellent zone in the Coast Mountains for our hut project, don't be shy. Let us know.
